Gathered silk midi dress in polka dot

bought my usual jcrew dress size in 4, and it made my midsection look chunkier than it is. i felt a bit dumpy in it. i am 5’8” and 127lbs. i wouldn’t size down to a 2 since it doesn’t seem to be running a full size larger. so i guess the dress is just a bust. too bad it was final sale!

I was a little skeptical to spend $328 on this item, and now that I’ve received, tried it on, it will be going back. The fabric is a little thin, but not sheer. The fit was not flattering for my figure (emphasized my mid section). I also have broad shoulders and that part fit oddly. Overall it made me look wider. I would’ve loved it if the cinched waist was maybe elastic or had some give.
