Going places dress in dotted tweed

I have had great luck with J.Crew dresses fitting my plus size frame really well- this dress, not so much. The fabric is beautiful but the cut is very strange. I am busty on top and the top of this dress was HUGE - but just around the chest area.

This dress is so beautiful and elegant! I wore it at a friend's wedding and got many compliments!

I ordered this as soon as I saw it but was very disappointed when it arrived. I ordered a petite 2 which surprisingly large and didn't quite fit like I was hoping. For reference, I am 5'2, 26ish inch waist with wide hips. It didn't quite hug me in the right places and was loose around the waist and didn't sit nicely at the bottom (hit just above the knee but flared out slightly which looked ill-fitting). The material is excellent and great quality, but has no give so the next size down would not stretch where needed. Unusual fit & not flattering all around so I will unfortunately be returning. Very cute dress, but not suited for a petite curvy body type.
