Halter-neck tiered maxi dress in dot

I really wanted to keep this dress. It was perfect for a fall Florida wedding, and it was fun to wear! However, it’s heavy and the dress is held up solely by the halter. I have some back/neck trouble so I knew I’d be in pain. Definitely size down if you’re smaller on top.

I bought this dress thinking it was a perfect option for a casual afternoon in Napa but it seems like a ball gown. I’m totally confused about when to wear it. It’s also heavy because of the lining but I’ll probably still keep it since it is super flattering.
