Scoopneck midi sweater-dress

This dress is a Swiss army knife. The scoop neck, fabric hand and length make it super useful. With sneakers and under a jacket to be casual. Over a button-down and with belt for work. Alone and with great accessories for dinner/cocktail events. And yes, as one commenter discovered, it's even better worn backwards. But only if you figure out your size. Jcrew knits tend to be cut generously. The medium fit perfectly, although I'm traditionally a 12 (L) top/16 (XL) bottom. J Crew. design team, more of this one, in more colors, please. Deep brown, pink, plum, navy and ivory. Honestly, just ROY G BIV us at this point : )

I wasn’t expecting the sort of slinky knit material of the dress, but it is very flattering and on sale- such a great price! Can’t go wrong… body skimming, not right to the body… it looks really pretty with the crystal drop earring. Easy outfit.

I'm 5'1", 117 lbs, and the XS fit perfectly. The material is a bit weighted and forms to your figure, but it does a good job of emphasizing my curves and doesn't make me look lumpy or frumpy. As many reviews mentioned, it's pretty low cut, and probably more so given my height. For any petite gals out there interested in this dress and wondering about certain lengths: the dress goes down to the top of my ankle, which was perfect for me. The sleeves were slightly longer, ending ~1" past my wrist. Usually this would be an issue, but the extended length actually looks good, giving the dress a sexier vibe. Because of the form fitting cut and material, it's easy to fold the sleeves to the length you want without it being noticeable, or unsightly. I'd recommend this dress, especially if you're able to get it on sale.

LOVE this dress. I’m not even a black dress person but I loved the shape on the model. This makes you look incredible! I wouldn’t describe it as sweater dress, it’s not a sweater it’s AMAZING slightly structured but also thin material but definitely not too thin. It’s knit but it will look amazing and never pile. Almost like a knit pant material. I’m 5’2 100lbs and took XXS. The scoop neck is low cut and probably less so on a taller / larger person. But it’s reversible!!! See my backwards pic when it turns into an amazing boatneck with a scoop back instead! I will probably wear in reverse mostly bc I love it but good to have both options. 2 dresses in 1! It is solid black one of my pics looks faded bc the sun was setting bright and coming through the window but it’s definitely solid black! Stunner of a dress and I love the length!!!! Perfection!!! Probably best dress of the season!!! More this shape/ cut/ material please!!

I absolutely love sweater dresses, JCrew consistently does an exceptional job with their designs. This fabulous dress is très chic! I love the LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fabric which has substance, wears well and holds its shape. The fitted column shape of this dress is striking with a beautiful scooped neckline. The length on the model is much shorter than for me at 5'3" where it hits 4" above my ankles. I love the length which looks great with ankle boots. This dress can be casual or dressy depending on the way it is accessorized. I love this dress, it will be a staple for years to come.
