Smocked halter dress in tossed floral

I have been obsessed with jcrew for a long time but this is the first dress I have bought. Many dresses are long in length and I just do not prefer them on my short legs. I am not in to the new puff sleeve fad on all the mini dressers and many of the minis lately seem to be non flattering boxy cut. So, when I seen this, I knew I had to have it and I am not disappointed! It actually flatters my smaller chest and I was completely comfortable braless. I agree with a previous review about the tie around the neck is super long, which makes me feel the need to constantly tighten it. Even with that, the dress is well worth it!

The rose colour is probably flattering for every skin tone. It kept my D cups covered (although I did use tape to secure). The fabric is 100% cotton and the kind of quality I expect from J. Crew. Because the fabric is a bit on the stiff side be careful to hold on to the skirt when the wind picks up. I love how the smocking secures my mommy tummy.

This is a fantastic dress. The colors are same as shown, the fabric is a poplin quality. The smocked part is very flattering and covering my little love cushions. Would not have expected that. I am positively surprised. The cutout is very low, I have to mention. I am planning to cut a bit of the straps as they are rather long and sew it in the cutout so that it is not so widely open. My bra size is 34B and I don't need a bra with this dress. It is covering everything. If you have bigger breast, this might be a problem. The length is short, a real mini. I can highly recommend this dress. it is girly and sexy at the same time.
