Tie-waist shirt-dress in lightweight chino

I buy a lot of J. Crew dresses ... I might even have a problem lol. But this dress is perfection. It's the perfect work dress for me, it is professional but still fashionable. The fabric is a good weight and quality. I see it's sold out but I'm still writing this review in the hopes that they do something similar for Fall or next Spring. I get tons of compliments every time I wear it.

This is everything I want in a good shirtdress. Flirty, A-line, easy to wear, comfortable. The fabric feels nicely weighted without being heavy or hot. I love that these are snap buttons! It makes it so much easier to put on. I purchased an 8 instead of my usual 6 in fit and flare styles (that's all that was available) and to my surprise it fit decently enough that I can keep it. So I'm guessing these dresses run a tad small because of that. Otherwise I may have it taken in a tad but not as much. The fabric has a little bit of stretch in it too. I actually didn't have any issue with the length on this one. This is a great classic dress. I definitely suggest to get this one! great quality!

This is a well made classic dress. It will be in style or years to come. I am 160 pounds 5'6" tall 36DDD. I got a size 12 so the snaps wouldn't gap at the breast area. I could have worn a 10 easily, but wanted more room in the bust area.

I love this dress from the style to the fit to the details! It’s timeless but with a fun twist with the full skirt and gold snaps. It can be worn for multiple occasions such as work, brunch, date night…I’ll wear it with canvas espadrilles, leather espadrilles and slides with and without a heel. This lends itself to fun accessories such as earrings and handbag. I am starting to feel like J Crew is “back” and I’m so happy!

This dress was stunning one me. I lean towards classic and timeless pieces that are never out of style. This is one of those pieces. I am petite and curvy. I normally would purchase a 0 or 2 but I got a 4 based on previous reviews. I needed the extra room in the bust. If you are on the larger bust range, you will definitely need to size up as there is no give and if you intend on wearing this dress appropriately, the increased size will accommodate the girls. It does have an attached belt so even if it were slightly loose, the belt would take care of that.

The quality and style of this dress is impeccable. I love the details of the gold snaps. It elevates the look vs. making it look cheap. I agree, it does run slightly small across the bust and with snaps, I did return and size up. After sizing up, even if the dress requires a nip in by a tailor, it will be worth it. The dress is adorable and will outlive the cost!
