Tiered cotton voile shift dress in purple paisley

Sadly I couldn’t rerun this dress because of final sale due to sizing so I used the straps on another similar dress which somehow arrived without straps. This is a beautiful dress but was very very very big!!!

I fell in love with the print online and just how comfortable the dress looked. It did not disappoint. I have just received it and tried it on and it is lovely. Very feminine and flowy. I am in-between a 10 and 12 and got the Medium. My chest is also on the larger side so I didn't have any of the issue as previous reviewers. This dress is comfortable, simple and lovely.

It does run large (at least one size) and it is an odd fit particularly around the breasts. In that respect it's sort of reminiscent of the ill-fitting bras of yore where there was a seam in the absolute wrong place and made the girls look pointy/oddly-shaped...this is kind of like that. BUT, the dress has potential and given that I purchased it on final sale, I was not ready to give up on it. I have nearly no sewing skills unless you count a semester of home economics in the 7th grade nearly 35 years ago. I cut the inner slip out with no precision with a pair of scissors (the slip seemed unnecessary due to the pattern & plans to wear this dress in extremely hot & humid conditions). I then tucked & put in about 4 stitches in the interior just under either side of where my breasts sit to add just enough shape. Voila...at a minimum it's appropriate to throw on over a swim suit. But, I feel comfortable enough to wear it out & about. I'm 5'7", 155lbs, 36A/B.

This dress puffs out in an extremely odd way at the bust and runs very large. I recommend sizing down two sizes and staying away unless you have a very large bust.
