V-neck mini dress in navy gingham

JCrew has multiple dresses in this design for the season. They are all oversized in the chest and most come with oversized puffy sleeves. The first one I purchased was a long double gauze dress in light blue. The sleeves made my large chest look enormous. (Note that sleeveless versions of the same dress are rated much higher.) After it hung in my closet unworn for a few months, I chopped off the long sleeves. Sewed the hem and put gathers in it so I was left a cute rounded short sleeves. The portions were much better and I finally wore the dress out. I did the same with this dress and got 3 compliments on it first time I wore it. Buy it if you're willing to get rid of the giant sleeves!! On fit, I wear a 36G bra. I wear JCrew tops in a large and dresses in a size 12. In this style dress, I wear a medium.

I am 5'4", I ordered the small and the dress comes up much higher compared to the model in the picture. Very disappointed!
