Where is the sash?!
November 12, 2021Very nice weight and quality cashmere and knit, but this is the second dress and there is no sash! I’m so bummed! I don’t think I’ll be returning it as it look good without, but with a sash it would be a complete package. Just as pictured on the website. Size reference: 5’6’ 115lb XXS was fine, now I have the XS and it works too.

Excited to wear it - runs large, short
October 20, 2021I'm 5'10", 145 pounds and ordered a Small in this dress. It hits mid-thigh on me, which is short, but wearable with tights (which was always my intention). But it would not be work-appropriate. I don't find it overly baggy, especially with the adjustable belt. The quality seems good. I haven't worn it out yet, so I'm not sure how it will hold up or if it will pill. This cashmere is slightly thinner than other cashmere I've seen this year, but I think that's expected for a dress vs sweater. Overall I love it and am excited to wear it this Fall/Winter!

Beautiful dress, but not flattering for my frame
October 18, 2021I decided to try this dress, knowing it likely wouldn't work for my apple-shaped frame (broad shoulders, narrow waist). Dropped shoulders tend to accentuate my top half too much, but the thick fabric contributed to this as well. The contrast piping detail and the cardigan sweater style with the front pockets are really cute and make for a comfortable dress. I'm 4'11" and the dress wasn't too short on me, personally, but the XXS size had too much volume, both in the chest and shoulder area, and in the upper back; I wonder if the dress is pinned on the model for the front view, because when I used the included belt (and even my own), I had extra fabric awkwardly bunching in the back. The fabric itself is really soft and comfortable and this does seem like a quality piece that I would recommend. Just wish the construction and shape were slightly more tailored so it could be more flattering on body types like mine.

Gorgeous dress for variety a of occasions
September 25, 2021So flattering and a good length. Only complaint is I wish there was more cashmere in it and less wool.

Hugely oversized
September 20, 2021I gasped with joy when I saw the picture of this dress, but unfortunately it looks nothing like the picture. It is at least two full sizes bigger than the tag. It's so big that there's no way I could wear it as a dress and it looks like I'm wearing my grandmother's cardigan if I try to wear it as a jacket. J.Crew doesn't make a small enough size that would fit me and there are lots of people smaller than I am (I'm 5'6, 120 lbs). Sheesh. Enough with the vanity sizing J.Crew. It's a shame because the fabric is soft and beautiful and the white trim is so sharp. If you're smaller than me, this will not fit you.

Staple piece
September 18, 2021This just arrived and I cant wait to wear it. I'm 5'9" and this hits me mid-thigh. I plan to wear this with jeans, as it is too short to wear as a dress. For me, anyway. I sized-up from my usual L to an XL. I did this only so it would be a little more roomy/slouchy/oversized. TTS would also work, if a fitted look is preferred. The fabric is incredibly soft. The sweater has a nice weight, but not too heavy. Perfect for Fall, into Winter. This will become a go-to for me. Cant go wrong. As a friendly FYI: JC has a flat which matches this perfectly! The shoes are on clearance which is a win.
