Tie-front button-up peplum top in floral cotton poplin

I agree with the prior review that this runs a little small. I'm 5'2", 117 lbs, 32D, typically an XS or S in tops. I bought a 2, and I JUST fit into this;) It is flattering since it makes my waist look small, but I think a 4 would have been more comfortable. Also, the straps are a tad long. I'm not sure if they would be any longer on the larger size.

I purchased a sz 10 in this top thinking I would be safe but alas it is at least one sz too small for me. I’m a 38b on top and the bust portion fits fine. However it’s the rib cage area that is just extremely tight despite having a partially smocked back. Unfortunately there were no reviews to help guide me on sizing. And per customer service there was absolutely no way I could exchange for a sz up. Which personally is a ridiculous policy. I understand final sale and no returns but I love the top and just want to sz up to a 12 which is in stock. My only options now are to squeeze into a top that will be uncomfortable or fork out another $$ to purchase the sz 12 in stock. I’m disappointed because I really like J crew items and shop here frequently. Every order I’ve placed has been for sz M or sz 10 and has fit perfectly. So disappointed that I order my normal sz and they have an item that runs small and not labeled as running small. So hopefully my loss will help someone else.
