Tie-neck top in lattice floral

Wore this top recently with the matching pants and was stopped so often for compliments. Be aware the neck tie is short, so you can't do a great big floppy bow, but you can do a small chic one or even just let it hang depending on the look you're going for. The colors are vibrant. The fit is okay, nothing spectacular in that regard.

I got this early on when it first came out and went on a special sale b/c I just could not resist the fabric and I like the tunic 70s styling. It is the fit and look I wanted and I like it a lot. It really is similar to old 70s fabric too, so don't be surprised about that either, it's like you totally lucked out in the cool hip vintage shop you love that's overpriced for vintage but you couldn't resist the vibe. I think it's a JCrew hit! When I saw this top, I didn't expect it to be shaped, didn't think it would be skimming either, figured a looser style, so I got what I expected. I can find a way to make it work to speak to the other reviewer who is right, it isn't shaped...but I get everyone is different that way, I prefer to have a looser fit than fitted/tight but I don't mostly want super baggy either unless I'm pairing with something more fitted.

I ordered this based on the photos and another review. I honestly cannot believe this is a J. Crew Collection item. It is thin, unlined polyester with absolutely no shape or tailoring whatsoever. It looks like someone sewed together two halves of a paper bag. Very boxy and unflattering. Unfortunately it is not returnable as I purchased it on sale (since when is every J. Crew sale item final sale, by the way?), so I will get it properly tailored before wearing it. I do like the pattern, so that's a plus, but I wish the neck tie were long enough to make a bow and not just a knot, which doesn't look very pretty.

This top is perfect for teleworking. Looks beautiful in Zoom meetings and extremely comfortable!
