The pleats are nonexistent
March 10, 2024Sadly, one of the few items from J Crew that was a huge miss for me. The knife pleats on the skirt are not crisp like they are in the picture. Mine were barely visible, and impossible to get to look good unless I wanted to spend hours ironing. Not for me.

March 2, 2024I tried this on in store. I have no idea how this skirt was priced at over $200 full price. Even on sale it’s just not worth it. The pleating problem can sort of be seen in the model photos, but I think it’s still a workable piece.

No pleats at all!
January 12, 2024I have this style in many colors, but this one has no pleats at all. I bought it as a final sale, but I called over the phone and explained to them that the skirt was defective and I got a shipped label for free and I returned the skirt. Not even at reduced price is a good deal. I do not recommend this specific skirt.

Terrible Execution on what could be a great skirt
December 12, 2023I had high hopes for this skirt, as I love the satin version, and have that in two colors. This was such a disappointment - the pleats aren't permanently pressed into the material, so the skirt i received basically has zero pleats. I can't imagine what will happen once it's washed or dry cleaned and I don't have the time to hand press them back in. Great idea, very poor execution.

Would have been amazing, but…
December 10, 2023I bought this at the beginning of Nov and was super excited to mix and match with some other sweaters and fun items I recently purchased that match this palette. But the pleats were all horribly ironed out when it arrived. I tried taking it to my cleaners to see if they could fix it but they said it was a manufacturing mistake. Took it back to JCrew, going out of my way to a store that had the same skirt to exchange, sadly to find out that ALL of them had the exact same defect. Boo.

Poor quality - nothing like the product photos
November 24, 2023I’m in complete agreement with “Nope”. Such poor quality, no actual pleating, thin and wrinkled. I have two pull-on pleated skirts from past seasons and this skirt looks like a cheap imitation. Unfortunately, the downward trajectory in quality seems to be a trend with this company; I’ve been a J Crew customer for years but this last year or two I’ve been hard-pressed to find a piece I’ve wanted to keep. Add to it the 7.50 return fee, and I’m becoming less inclined to consider J Crew in the future.
