Thomas Mason® for J.Crew ruffle skirt

I own a ton of J Crew clothes and plan to continue shopping there. I was looking for something special for my daughter's baby shower so decided on this skirt and the big bow top (also Thomas Mason). I'm tall and slender and can carry it off. It was a disaster! As someone who owns other skirts with a side ruffle I know how they should drape. For $200. it should hang correctly, instead it sticks out and doesn't drape. After multiple attempts of trying to manipulate it I gave up. A well designed item shouldn't need to be fussed with or sent to a seamstress to redesign a major feature. Check out my photos and compare to the styled one on their website. It's misleading how it's featured showing the ruffle running vertically with the body of the skirt. In real life it sticks out when you walk and at best, if you keep fussing with it, it will lay somewhat flat but at a weird angle but just don't move because it will flair. I felt like I looked silly, like I was wearing a circus tent.
