Ruffle-collar ribbed merino wool sweater

I ordered this sweater in almond and with stripes because I loved how it looks on the model. After wearing it for 1 hour it lost its shape and I was wearing a sweater which looked like 3 sizes too big. I looked like wearing a sack. I shrinks when washing but when you wear it, it looses the shape. The sleeves looked like on an oversized sweatshirt and the body part I could have fit two of me in. Very bad quality. The style is very nice, but I would wish it would come with some stretch in it to keep the shape. J.Crew that was not well thought through. I fear that going a size down will not help as well.

Since the sweater is double knitted, it’s warmer than regular merino wool sweater.

I purchased the warm almond color. It has a nice weight. Not too itchy. Buy it. The true size is accurate. I didn’t need to order up (34g uk siding). Medium would have fit.

Loved this sweater but after a few washes I discovered a huge rip in the collar seam. Expect way better quality from J. Crew.

I fell in love with this in the store and bought it in two colors- striped and olive green. I kept both, but found that the arms are not at all fitted which looks unfortunately bad with the rest of the sweater. Because it’s ribbed, it will stretch out after wearing, particularly in the elbows. I make the arms look better by scrunching up the sleeves. I am very petite (5’1” and 105lbs) and got the XS. Wish they made this in petite or xxs size.

Fits well- very flattering - I bought it in the oatmeal color and it is just a bit see-through - would wear with a camisole underneath for work, but could get away with just a light colored bra for more casual wear
