Merino wool patch-pocket sweater-jacket

I’m 5’5’ and usually buy a small or medium based on reviews. I bought the medium because previous reviews said this runs small. That wasn’t the case on me. The overall fit was too big on me in the shoulders, chest and length. For comparison, the Emilie patch pocket lady jacket in M that I ordered at the same time measured 18.5” from armpit to armpit. This jacket in M measured 20”, so it’s 3 inches wider through the chest. The matching skirt runs true to size. Me: 5’5”, 125 pounds, 34D.

Love the shade of purple. Fit true to size and the quality is really good. Can be dressed up or down.

This is my first time ever reviewing a clothing purchase, but I was just blown away by this jacket. The weight is substantial, but it still drapes beautifully, and the purple is just such a gorgeous color. The quality is outstanding, especially at this price point. It is a bit on the smaller side, so you have limited options on what to layer under it, but everything else more than makes up for it. J Crew -- please make this in more colors!!

I received this gem a few days ago and it's even prettier in person! The purple is more vibrant than the picture and it is a substantial weight without being too heavy or itchy. I would consider it perfect for transitional weather in cooler climates and ideal for a milder climate in the throws of winter. I ordered my normal size medium and found it to be slightly relaxed but not so oversized that I'd need to size down. I could easily layer a tissue turtleneck or even something a bit heavier if need be. I'm hoping it will offered in more colors!
