Relaxed fleece turtleneck with cashmere trim

Was excited when I saw this on the model as I've been looking for a slightly slouchy cashmere turtleneck for some time. The usual cashmere turtlenecks just don't cut it anymore like many reviewers have mentioned about the cashmere quality from j crew in general. I got this knowing that only that trims are cashmere and the rest wool. The wool was horribly itchy especially at the seams and I had to take it off the moment I put it on. Fit wise it was oddly square and not slouchy like how it looks like on the model even though I got XXS for my 5' 3 frame. The stars are for the cashmere trims which didn't itch and were soft. But I also didn't like the cuffs which are high up almost reaching the elbow. J crew has got to up their sweater game. I've returned so many sweaters already.

This sweater is really cozy and would be great for casual weekend wear or just lounging around your apartment. However, it runs pretty large (I got an XXS, and it's still big in the back/chest), and the fabric on mine was already starting to pill when it arrived. Just not sure I want to pay this much for it, considering the size and pilling. Still trying to decide on whether to return.

The style and color of this sweater are wonderful but it is extremely oversized. I am a size 2/extra small at Jcrew and the extra small was two sizes too big. I now have to return it and hope to find an extra-extra small (or maybe even xxx-small) to get the fit I am seeking/that is normal. Given the price point for this sweater it should mention in the description that the sweater is oversized.

I usually love J Crew sweaters. Not this one. I bought it in grey online and the color is much darker than the picture; the fabric (and especially the hem) are very stiff. The sleeves are really long and wide. Weird fit. Going back..... :(

I put the grey one on, and I think I said, "Wow" a million times. It's gorgeous. The fit is oversized, but I still sized up to get it the way I wanted. I think I would've been just as happy in my original size. Sleeves are nice and long, and turtleneck is long enough to scrunch down, wear high (if folded once), or fit more like a normal turtleneck if folded into thirds. The cashmere part is slightly darker than I expected, but I just can't say enough about this sweater. Covers my butt, so I can wear leggings and not be insecure. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
