Great Tall Boots
January 7, 2023I purchased these boots last month because I was looking for a chocolate brown pair of tall boots to go with my brown Sherpa coat. They are perfect! I found that they are true to size, comfortable and as other have said…quite stiff out of the box. This will change as they are worn, though…just need to break them in. That is the only reason I took one star off. I have worn them a couple of times and will get lots of wears out of them!

Good looking but not comfy
December 31, 2022These boots are lovely. The Macadamia color is a little more yellow in person than it appears on my computer monitor. I have short, thin legs so the calf has more room than I would prefer. The biggest issue with the boots are how stiff the soles are. Not only is there no flex at all, but it is not comfortable. When driving my car, I feel like I have wooden blocks on my feet which make it feel like I can't be very responsive with the gas and brake pedals.

Small shaft
December 20, 2022I have never written a review on here, but these upset me so much I didn’t want others to make the same mistake as me. The shaft is so small that I couldn’t zip it up all the way. I consider my calves to be average size so this was very disappointing. I disregarded other reviews on this which is my own fault. I bought these final sale so there’s no returning them. I buy a lot from J. Crew and it seems to me the quality and consistency in their products have got poorer and poorer. Please do better J. Crew!

Made of wood...
December 18, 2022No way I will be able to wear this boots without tearing my feet and legs! I don’t care if this is a final sale I will not wear this boots even if you pay me... They feel like they are made of wood from the top to bottom hardly any bending or flexibility!

Love’em- Update
December 10, 2022I just received the Berkeley in Ganache. Love the slightly elevated sole, and the back zipper, I ordered a half size up, glad I did, they are roomy ( w/o socks) but not overly, the shaft is snug, and I don’t have large calves and I wouldn’t recommend this particular boot if you do. The leather is stiff, but not uncomfortable, with wear they will soften and relax as the other pair I purchased last year. They’re nice J.Crew quality

December 7, 2022I’ll tell you what I can speak to concerning the stiffness, I bought the over the knee boots last year, and they were super tight through the width of my foot, wasn’t able to wear them very long at first, I purchased some stretchers to help develop a little more width, and it worked, and gradually able to have them on for at least 7 hours.
