Lug-sole heeled Chelsea boots in leather

I want to chime in that I had the opposite experience of another review. I own over a dozen pairs of boots in many brands and am always always always an 8.5, I ordered these in an 8.5 and they are half a size too big. My feet are swimming in them and I feel like I am wearing too-big shoes. Super bummed as they are now sold out of my size. When I move my foot up into the toe box there is an inch of room between my heel and the back of the boot. I would not recommending sizing up! I feel like jcrew shoe sizing is all over the place. And I have been lead astray by other shoe reviews on here into buying a size that didn't work so I wanted to give my two cents.

These are beautiful boots, nicer in person than I think the pictures make them look. They feel very well-made. They were a bit stiff at first but it only took a couple days of walking around in them before they loosened up, and overall I’d say they’re pretty comfortable. The heel is the perfect height for me. I did have to exchange them for a half size up because my regular size felt like a python was wrapped around my feet. I almost always take a size 6, even in shoes that have reviews saying to size up, so these definitely seem to run small, but I think a full size up would’ve been too big for me so I’d recommend only going up a half size (unless maybe you plan to mainly wear them with thick winter socks). All in all, I’m super happy with these boots and am already wearing them all the time. They’re exactly the style I was looking for!
