Laila lace-up wedges in suede

I bought this pair of shoes because they look very stylish and chic with the right heel, but after 15 minutes of walking, they are so unconfortable they hurt in the top area, you can not wear they nicely, in order to wear it, you need to loose it up the cord.

Everytime I wear these sandals, I get a compliment. I bought the black suede and yes, they were a bit stiff and needed breaking in, but as long as you don’t tie them too tight around the ankles, they can be worn all day by a person who is on their feet for 8 hours at work. Very sexy shoe that looks good with your entire wardrobe.

I am usually a size 7, sometimes a 6.5. I ordered the 6H in Desert Pink, hoping they would be the perfect shoes for my wedding next year. They fit as far as length and width. I was worried the color may be too pink for my skintone, but they look beautiful in person. I love the way they look. The style is equal parts classic (lower heel with the nude suede) and modern (with the lace up and cut outs). The lower heel height is a huge selling point for me. Unfortunately, they are extremely uncomfortable to wear. The ties are too thick/stiff, and the edges of the cutouts feel sharp against my skin. Very disappointing. I returned these.

As another reviewer noted, if you're expecting or used to JCrew's Italian shoes, you will be sorely disappointed by these imported (read: made in China) wedges. They even smell cheap. (You know the smell I mean.) The style is pretty cute and the heel height is perfect for those of us who can't bear the stiletto 4-inchers that seem to be all anyone offers anymore. Alas, this pair is just not worth the money, even on sale.

A similar style to another JCrew pair I bought a few years ago but, strangely, the fit was very different in the newer version than the older one. The top of the new heel piece was a very uncomfortable fit and the lace up gap is wide and unflattering. I've decided to keep on wearing the older, earlier style and have sent these back.

I bought a very similar style many years ago and just love them. These are not made as well. The metal grommets look cheap. I wanted to love them but the overall look was clunky and not the usual JCrew Italian made perfection. I say raise the price and give us better quality.
