Wide-pleat midi skirt

This is a great summer skirt, I did find the white to be on the see-through side though so be cautious of under garments or if you plan to tuck a shirt into it. I ordered a size 2 which is my normal size, however I did find it to be a little large and I could have gotten away with a size 0. I am 5’4”, 116lbs and typically a xs, 2, 27 (jeans). The skirt also falls like a maxi skirt on me because of my height. Overall it is a very flattering piece!

I love this skirt when wear it on, the green color is so pretty. Material is soft and flowy. Love love this skirt. Fit true to size.

This skirt feels luxurious on. It's a longer midi, soft, flowy, and feminine. I purchased it in the color grenadine as a final sale. In the photos, it looked to be a red-orange but its very pink. I ordered a size 2, which tends to fit perfectly in J Crew skirts. However, this particular skirt fits like a size 0. I'm not able to wear it and unfortunately regret the purchase.

First...the Love!! As most of my fellow tall gals have expressed...FINALLY...FINALLY.. a long skirt for us! Thank you J.Crew...What took you this long?? I'm 5'8, and this is a maxi on me...I love THAT! It's beautiful with the kitten heel I've had for 15 years, looking for the right skirt. The Pleats are just lovely, as you've all said. Now...for what you don't want to hear....I HATE THE LINING! It's getting yanked out faster than I can blink!! It's static and super clings to every inch of my leg. ( I can hear you all gasping for air as I say ...NO LINING!!) It lays sooooo much nicer without it, and is a bit more current, rather than traditional, which I know is the over all look. Also, it's too high waisted, and that makes it Mee-Maw in my opinion. So, even though this needs a bit of work, I will still enjoy the conservative edge this lovely piece offers.

I have worn a 00 or 0 in all JCrew skirts/dresses for the past 10+ years but sadly that sizing didn't hold true for this skirt. It is beautiful and I love it but the 0 was tight around the waistband. I guess I needed a size 2. Unfortunately the color that I originally ordered it in is sold out :-(

...this one isn't the same, sadly. I own at least a dozen in varying colors and patterns. Across the board, my sizing has been the same. I can order them with extreme confidence. Enter the wide-pleat midi skirt. I was excited to try this for some variation & my initial take is that it's SO long! It's a solid 6 inches longer than my other J.Crew pleated midi skirts. Not only does the length add extra fabric but the wide pleats seem to add visual bulk. As a true pear shape this makes me look like a blob. Size 8 Reference This skirt: 15 inch waist (laying flat) & 35 inches long, hits just above my ankle. Non wide-pleat skirts: 15 in waist (laying flat) & 29 inches long, hits a few inches below my knee. My sizing: 5'6", ~150 lbs, size 0/2 top, size 6/8 bottom.
