Featherweight cashmere cropped cardigan sweater

I bought my normal size of this sweater and definitely too tight. Got it on sale, so can't return. However, the quality is fantastic. If this comes back in stock in a larger size, I would absolutely buy it.

Adorable and attractive cropped cashmere sweater in brilliant cove blue— and I got the matching cove blue Gwyneth skirt. A terrific outfit, and I rarely buy an outfit as modeled in the catalog exactly as shown. The cardi reviews stated it runs a little snug so I sized up to XXL and that was a good decision. I am busty with DDD bra, and I have a small waist, so the XXL fits me well. I also designed my own tshirt with some of my artwork on it and the tshirt is this exact shade of blue (like a royal blue), so I am putting the whole outfit together— the cropped cardigan over my tshirt with the tshirt tied in a knot at waist and the whole ensemble looks fantastic! I think the cardigan’s cashmere blend is a bit off somehow, not very soft, so it benefits from wearing it over a tshirt or a tank top or a little slip or something. The overall style of the cardigan is very flattering on an hourglass shape. I probably would wear this sweater over a slip dress of just about any color, as well as a favorite Reformation Juliette dress that’s this shade of blue (a blue and white print) that has spaghetti straps. I wouldn’t wear this cropped cardigan with jeans, but I would wear it with high-waisted linen trousers for a different look. It’s an adorable sweater and a great “date” style.

I bought the black and pink-purple. With the black it’s less noticeable, but with the colored one— this thing sheds like crazy! It was on my coat, my shirt, my pants, my office chair. Just looks awful and embarrassing! Style is cute but the shedding isn’t worth it. Have bought cashmere from j crew before and never had this experience. Wish I could return it, but sadly it’s final sale and quality is poor because of the horrible shedding. Avoid this sweater at all costs! J crew, please contact me!

I'm submitting this review not only to advise other customers, but also as a J Crew fan (literally most of my wardrobe comes from you). To the wonderful creators at J Crew: whoever this manufacturer is, never work with them again. This item had a major construction flaw in a seam; in addition, it shed continuously on me and my countertop as I held it in my hand. Not just small amounts of fiber either (which tbh is normal with a sweater) but unusual clumps of fiber that didn't stop. Everything else that I have received recently was great as usual, by the way.

I love this cardigan! I'm so happy I was able to snag it on sale! I sized up from my usual XS to a M because I didn't want it too cropped and have a larger bust, and am so happy I did- it fits just as I wanted it to!
