Ruffle-sleeve dress in Ratti® curly floral

Beautiful dress, I just received it. Fabric very light, thin, but not very see through, perfect for hot summer. Dress has white camisole, I took it off, don’t need it at all. Size slightly larger than I expected, loose on the waist. I added little rubber band on the back (waist area), now dress fits good, love it. Good for clearance price, but would be very disappointed if pay for it full price.

I expected a more substantial fabric, but it is soft and comfortable for a hot summer day. Got a good amount of compliments, but it isn’t particularly flattering to my frame— just kind of hangs, making me look larger and shapeless. For the clearance price at an extra 50% I’m good with it, but had I paid full price I would have been very disappointed.

I wanted to love this dress, as I have a number of other tiered, ruffled summer dresses from J Crew that I do love, but I couldn’t. The fabric feels very inexpensive and there were loose threads everywhere. The separate slip is a nightmare as it comes well above the neckline of the dress so it looks like you’re wearing a cheap cotton camisole everyone can see. You must wear some kind of slip as the fabric is too sheer to wear alone so you will either need to alter the cheap white cotton slip or go buy a different one (my recommendation). The fit is weird too. Tight in the bust (and I’m not large there) and voluminous from the waist down (as in I could put three people in there). Unfortunately I bought it on a sale price (still over $100) so can’t return. Fortunately I didn’t pay the well over $200 original price. The Ratti hype is not real when it comes to this dress.

This is the most flowery, colorful, and feminine dress I have ever got. I usually go for more neutral designs. However, I am happy with the "experiment" purchase. I am able to put the dress with an almost separate slip and zip it on smoothly enough. I weigh 150 lbs and am between 5'4" and 5'5". I got size L, which fits perfectly. People say I do not look like 150 lbs because I have big bones and a big frame to carry more weight.
