Baracuta® G9 Harrington jacket

Just to get it out of the way: yes, this jacket is an investment. The price tag is a little hard to justify for what is essentially a windbreaker (there are leather jackets out there that cost less), but once you start to look at the details and craftsmanship of the G9, you may find reason with it. Take the Fraser Tartan lining for example. You'll see how it’s perfectly centered with respect to the Baracuta label and lined up perfectly along all of the seams. The stitching is clean with no breaks, and they even sew in a little pocket to house the material/care tags! With regard to size & fit, I wear a 36 in Ludlow jackets and got a 40 in this one (note: a 40 actually equates to a Small on Baracuta's American size chart). With features like raglan sleeves, a standing collar, and ribbed cuffs, this is a jacket that has a tough time looking bad with any outfit or body type. And for anyone who calls this an "Old Man's Jacket", you should learn to appreciate what classic style truly is.

Great jacket. I get tons of compliments. Def size up. Usually I’m a 42. But for this I got a 44. Fit perfectly.

Jacket definitely runs small. I normally wear a 38 and I struggled to even close the zipper. Ended up with a 40. Jacket is slim, not baggy at all.

The iconic G9 jacket updated with a slimmer modern fit, really cannot go wrong with this. Wear it casual over a tee and jeans, tidy up a bit with a shirt/tie and wool trousers, goes with pretty much anything and everything. Chose the navy as like the contrast with the red tartan lining, perhaps JCrew could have gone one step further and played around with the lining color/patterns - something to think about? Anyhow, great jacket, very happy with the purchase.

I purchased the Baracuta G9 Harrington jacket for my husband. He is 5'11" and weighs about 185 pounds, usually wears size 42. The only place I could get a size 42 was at the J Crew Toronto Eaton Centre. Both Ashley and Leslie were truly amazing. They treated me like a friend - it was so easy to deal with them that I would not hesitate to contact them again. This is the best customer service that I have ever received. Well, when I received the jacket - it looked and felt wonderful. Loved the quality (made in England too!) and especially that it was lined in the beautiful tartan fabric, so nice to wear on a crisp spring day. The only problem was that I could tell right away that it was probably just a tad too slim fitting - so I quickly ordered one size up just in case. J Crew quickly rushed out my order - so on Christmas day, my husband had a choice in sizes. Although he probably could have got away with a size 42, he ended up keeping size 44 instead. Love the jacket!

This jacket lives up to its reputation and history. It is a true classic and very versatile. As noted in many other reviews, the fit is quite slim. I bought the 40 for my husband and it fit, but he opted to size up for a bit more room. Highly recommended.
