Superlative Chinos
March 4, 2025These are better than average chinos for sure. The waist detail is great, and I don't mind the buttons. I went down one size from normal in the waist and one size longer than my normal in length (since the photos showed a cropped look) and it worked. They are fuller cut, but that is what I prefer- no skinny fits for me, thanks. These are an investment, but if you're wanting to go fewer items with better quality these will work.

Excellent pant - beautiful fabric
December 31, 2024These are my favorite J. Crew / Wallace Barnes pants in a while. The fit is more relaxed, as others have noted, but the fabric is so nice it drapes in a beautiful way when walking. I happened to see a video my wife took of my son and me walking (I was wearing these pants) and I loved the way they moved with each step. Amazing detail with the selvedge, as well.

Very, very close to perfect
November 13, 2024Once the material wears in after a few washes, the pants take on such a good feeling and look--before that they're a little rigid for my tastes. Have patience! My only actual problem with them is that the crotch fits sorta strange. It feels like the front is too big, and when you sit down or angle your legs the wrong way you get a pretty wild thing going on. But when you're standing it's amazing!
