Cotton-blend Jackie cardigan sweater

The Jackie Cardigan is a mainstay of my business wardrobe and I have amassed about a dozen of these sweaters over my career. As the cardigans age, I want to replace them, and the alternative you offer do not compare. Please, please, please bring these back.

I really wanted these to work for me, but they simply won’t. I’m an apple-shaped plus size woman, and I struggle to find a classic cardigan. I purchased two colors really looking forward to them working out, and they haven’t. They’re on the small size which is weird since they’re suppose to go over your clothing. As mentioned in other reviews, I have large arms, which makes an already reduced cardigan feel even more reduced. I would steer clear of them if you’re plus size and broader or have ample bat wings. The fabric also wants soft or cozy feeling. I kept thinking I will give to my sister who is two dress sizes smaller than me.

I tow the line at J.Crew between XS and S. I’m pretty slender, but I have a large chest and my waist fluctuates greatly depending on my lifestyle/time-of-the-month. I bought this cardigan in XS because I wanted it to be form-fitting. I wear it buttoned up with no shirt underneath and it is very, very sexy on. It’s the perfect material - stretchy, thick enough, and not itchy or uncomfortable to sweat in. It almost feels a little sporty. I wear this with yoga pants and *no bra* and I look sexy without being revealing! My advice: size slightly down and treat this as your sophisticated yet sexy piece. I’m praying the material holds up because I want to keep this forever!

I love the fresh classic style of this cardigan. I got a navy and a black for work, so that they can be dressed up or down, with pearls or a scarf. They are also versatile and neutral enough to layer, or to have in a bag if the room is cold. I like them loose and ordered two sizes larger and they are great.

My absolute go to staple for the office--I own about a dozen of these sweaters in a variety of colors. I work in a formal setting where I wear my j crew suits, and when I am not in meetings or walking around my work place I wear a j crew cardigan in my office. These sweaters look sharp, and in the past, added a pop of color to my j crew suiting. Please make more colors!! My sweaters are aging and I do not want to go elsewhere for replacements.

I have several old Jackies and two new ones. First, the long sleeves are just…blah. It’s fine. But the 3/4 sleeves are so much more elegant looking. The long sleeve version is just plain and neither flattering or unflattering. Second, the quality. My old Jackies still look brand new. No fading. No pilling. My new ones? Not so much. I could still wear my old ones to work even though they’re years old now. The new ones? Not after a season or two. They look very rough.
