Ruffle-trim bikini top in stripe

I bought this because I wanted a tie back. The description says ‘tie closure’ and there wasn’t a photo of the back. I’m a nursing mom and need the medium for coverage but am small around my rib cage. I was hoping to have a tie closure to make it fit. But this is a hook closure. There are no ties. The color and quality are nice, and I got it on final sale so no returns, I’m getting out my sewing needles to see if I can alter it to fit. I’m about a 30dd right now.

I usually need bra-sized swim tops, but I took a chance on this based on the reviews and because I love the way it looks. It's great! It definitely runs a bit large compared to other J Crew swim (and compared to the solid top that looks the same), although not compared to J.Crew's clothing sizing, and it works on somewhat larger cup sizes. I'm a 30D, wear XXS or XS in shirts, and the XS is perfect. So happy to have a top that is wireless, supportive, and cute. I got both the blue and coral.

Fit great and very very cute! Runs true to size. I usually wear a medium and it fit perfectly. I wear a D cup and it’s perfect. Lightly padded and supportive enough

Bought the top and the matching high waist bottoms. Looks very retro. Love it. Haven't had a chance to wear it yet because Chicago has gone Fall all of a sudden :(

After seeing, and loving, this swimsuit on two of my favorite bloggers, I REALLY wanted to love it. Overall the suit is good quality - the material was soft but seemed sturdy enough, the color and pattern were cute, and I do love the ruffles (wasn't sure I would), but the swimsuit absolutely will NOT work for anyone with boobs. I am a small C cup and there just was not anything in this suit to support my ladies - they just sort of flopped down and looked really saggy and unflattering (and my boobs aren't even that saggy, but they do need just a little help after 2 kiddos). Because of that, it had to go back. If you have a smaller chest, everything else about the suit and its matching high waisted bottoms was super cute, so I would recommend it, but if you carry a bit more up top, I think you will also be disappointed in this one. Jcrew - I'd love to see you bring it back next year with a bit more support, or maybe even an underwire version.
