Beautiful but runs a little small
June 12, 2022I usually wear a Size 7 in most shoes, including J. Crew. I made a mistake, which turned out to be perfect, and ordered a 7.5 in these. They are the perfect fit, which means the 7 probably would have been too small (my feet are at the edges of the shoe as it is). I am SO glad I mis-ordered, because the shoes are beautiful, and I am thrilled with them. The brown color is the perfect neutral for my lighter-colored and challenging-to-match (orange dress, for example) summer clothing. I agree with a previous reviewer who noted that the shoe is very stiff: it is, but I don't foresee this as a problem as I didn't expect to wear these all day on cobblestone streets in Italy or hike up a mountain in them. These are not "walking" shoes, but they are timeless, classy, & well-made.

Ankle strap too tight, not good for wide feet
June 9, 2022About me: I have wide feet, so while my actual foot size is 9.5, I usually buy 10 to accommodate my feet. I bought this in my usual size 10 in black. It's basically too small everywhere. The straps near the toes can almost fit my feet, but they are still too tight, especially near the middle of the foot. The ankle strap is also too tight! You're supposed to wrap it around your ankles, but I can barely buckle mines. My usual size at J.Crew is large. Not sure why the ankle straps are so short that it can't fit around my ankle. I think for anyone with a narrow foot and slim ankles, this would be perfect. Sadly, it doesn't work for me.

Perfect Casual Summer Date Shoe
May 15, 2022I wanted a cute, strappy sandal for “going out” wear & took a chance ordering these as “final sale” - so glad I did! I already have a pair of work shoes in the Golden Hickory suede so I knew I’d love the color & material. I’m a true “7” in shoes, but I prefer a 7.5 for anything like flip flops, mules, etc (I don’t like my foot at the very edge of the shoe) - I chose 7.5 in these & they’re a perfect fit! The toe area isn’t tight at all, the ankle strap adjusts perfectly & my foot feels as secure as it can in a strappy sandal. I love the way these look with cropped jeans & a pretty top. Nice walkable heel, too.

Cute but so disappointing
April 30, 2022The sole is completely rigid and the outer sole is very slippery. I can't imagine whom these shoes are made for, apparently someone, but I could not stand them walking around in the house for more than 5 minutes.

Cute but had some flaws for me
March 30, 2022I’m always conscious of writing reviews because everyone has a different opinion, style and body. First, I love these sandals! They are exactly what I was looking for - black, something strappy with a lower heel. They are made in Italy which I liked because I think the quality of the shoe is well made. However, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to strap them - I wasn’t sure which strap goes around what and which one goes first. Once I figured that out I was like Ok that makes sense. When I walked though this is where I had some challenges with my foot. I felt the back of my heel wasn’t fully supported. Even though the strap is adjustable to tighten/loosen, I still felt like the criss cross of the strap on the back of my heel didn’t lend much support. The other thing I noticed was the 2 bands farthest from my toes on the front of both shoes tended to criss cross every time I walked and I’m pretty sure they are to lay flat. So I will be returning.
