Very nice and cute dress, but a little small in the chest (33")

I’m so glad I purchased this dress! Quality fabric and nice dark denim color make it a go to piece for me. It is a little snug in the bust area but does not cause any discomfort while wearing.

I had this in my cart for ages before I finally purchased on sale, and agonized over what size to buy. I am usually between XS/S or 0/2 in numeric sizes. seeing a lot of people comment about it being tight in the bodice, I ended up choosing Small and I am glad I did. I do wish the bodice/torso was just a bit longer, but it works ok. The sleeves are quite puffy, but I love puff sleeves that was not necessarily a negative for me - just be aware they are not subtle! They are fairly wide set, so bra straps can be a challenge to hide - fortunately the smocking helps hold up a strapless bra. Also the chambray is on the stiff side. so be prepared to steam before wearing. Overall I am quite happy with my purchase.

This dress is a great staple I live in northern NY so I could wear this year round, it is thicker than a chambray shirt but not a sturdy/constricting denim. I took a star away from quality because it doesn’t have pockets or lining. I found the sizing small for j.crew. I’m typically a j.crew 2/4 or Xs/small in tops. I got this in Xs because of the stretch but it’s tight but wearable. I also found it short (5’2”) but again still wearable. So I would go with your regular size, but if you are busty consider going up. Overall good item to have in your closet especially on sale!

I really like this dress. The material is thick denim and good quality. Nice spring/fall dress. It is true to size. I would not size up in this dress you want it to fit snug. For reference I’m 5’2” 138. My only issue is the sleeves. Can Jcrew stop making everything puff sleeves. It is short so may not work for taller gals. I’m really surprised it is not sold out especially since it is on sale
