Nordic Fair Isle crewneck sweater in lambswool

I love the design of this sweater. It has some good weight to it and is best worn when you know you'll be outside in the cold or indoors somewhere that is cool. Someone mentioned the arm holes being a little low, I can agree with that but it's not a nuisance. The sweater also pills and sheds quite a bit, but it gives it a more authentic feel. I plan to have this one for years.

I loved how this looks online and I think it’s a little duller color wise in-person. Also as someone previously wrote, the armpits are sewn very low…I’m afraid I’m going to rip the seam if I raise my arms. Very odd. Otherwise the fit isn’t that slim as some have noted and I’m not a small guy, 6’, 205.

Love this sweater, and would love it even more if the colour had matched the J.Crew photo from which I placed the order, so there was some disappointment but will keep it nonetheless as it is cold where I am and it is needed now.

I'm a woman (5' 10", 160lbs, 32B Bra) who has started buying men's sweaters because the quality is so much better than the women's versions. I really wanted to love this sweater as the fair isle pattern is lovely. As other reviewers mentioned the sleeves are extremely tight. I typically buy a men's SMALL and the sleeves felt more like an extra small. No stretch or give because the sweater is all wool. I don't think it will stretch after wear. Also, the armpit seams are very low and awkward in the arm. Again, I think this is because of the fair isle pattern. I was hoping the extra fabric in the chest another reviewer mentioned would accommodate a 32B chest size but it was all weird. Unfortunately this one is going to be returned. It's a lovely thick sweater but the cons outweigh the pluses.

Very thick, soft wool, unfortunately made in China, not a Scottish/English import. Design is lovely. The fit is true to size, as per photos. I definitely wouldn't want it any smaller. It's not form-hugging. Unfortunately the fit isn't quite perfect. The sleeves are really narrow - with a shirt on underneath they're pretty tight. Aesthetically it's fine, but it feels kind of restrictive. I hope the sleeves stretch a bit with use. The armpit is also cut quite low, I think this is for aesthetic reasons so they can match the fair isle pattern onto the sleeve. Again it doesn't look odd, but it makes it kind of restrictive to move my arms too high.

I wear a size 38 jacket and ordered this in a medium since I have several J.Crew tops (both shirts and sweaters) in that size. This sweater hung on me like a 40-42, with a huge fold around my upper chest and shoulder. A shame since the quality of the wool is great.
