Women's 2011 Icon trench

I saved up and bought this trench specifically for a trip to England I had planned. As soon as I put it on for the first time, it tore and I was so upset as this was the beginning of my trip and was looking forward to wearing this coat. I wanted to spend a little more money on one and bought from J Crew because I thought it would be good quality. Upon returning, I contacted customer service and J Crew refused to allow me to return it or offer me anything for the poor quality product they sold me. This is horrible customer service and put a damper on my trip and my bank account. Won't be shopping from here again.

I'm 5'3", 110 lbs and purchased the 00P. The coat fits well, I would say true to size. The arms are a little snug, but I'm in California, so I don't mind not being able to layer bulkier sweaters underneath. I love the collar and the lengthening effect from the higher waist. 0P was sold out, but you may need to size up for more room with the arms. Everywhere else, the coat fit perfectly.

This is exactly as advertised. Very pleased. I normally wear a 0 and maybe could have gone with a 00 in this, but a little extra room in a coat is not a bad thing. The belt cinches in any case. Stylish fit and length. I am a bit under 5'4", 107 pounds. Sleeves are a little long. Color is a perfect classic khaki. Nicely lined.

I was torn between this one and a more expensive American preppy brand trench coat and I eventually chose this one for the following 2 reasons: 1. This Jcrew trench was made with a 100% COTTON SHELL, the preppy American brand’s trench is made with a POLYESTER AND COTTON BLEND fabric (which means cheaper fabric because it’s blended with synthetic fibers) yet it was still 2 times the price of this one! Granted, I don’t know how thick or thin the fabric of the preppy American brand is but I am pleased ENOUGH with the thickness of this coat. Obviously if this one was any thinner than what it is now then I wouldn’t buy either one. 2. There was a reviewer here who posted her measurements and they were very close to mine so I followed her advice on sizing and just like her, the coat fit like it was made for me. I’m 5’2”, 142lbs, and measure 37-33-38 I usually wear a size 8P but this time based on the review, I ordered a 10P and it fit me perfectly.

Perfect! So glad I purchased this item. I did size down based on reviews, but I still think it fits TTS. As I live in the South, I don't plan on wearing it over many additional layers, so the smaller size was fine. The color and fit are just perfect. I love the placement of the waist and belt, very flattering. I have not ordered one thing this year from J. Crew that has not been exceptional. Great year for quality and sizing.

I’m not sure I’m keeping this coat. The belt position is too high by a few inches so it’s right under my boobs. It looks off. I’m also more of an apple shape so it was fitted around my stomach. Don’t love or hate it but the belt is probably going to make me return it.
