What customers are saying:
Many customers really appreciated the coat’s classic style, quality materials, and overall warmth, which made it a hit especially at the sale price. A common recommendation was to get familiar with the zipper since several customers suggested that it can be tricky until you master the two-handed method—enhancing the coat’s functional appeal. Many customers also noted that the coat runs a bit large and boxy, with a few even recommending sizing down for a better, more tailored look. Overall, the coat stands out for its stylish design and comfort, with just a couple of practical tweaks suggested for the zipper and fit.

Disappointing purchase
March 20, 2023Was so excited when this item finally came back in stock in my size. Unfortunately, once I received it not only was the fit odd but the zipper was not functional. Didn’t open the box until 30 days after purchase and as it was final sale, customer service wasn’t able to do anything. They offered to reimburse repair but I would have to do so on my own. Glad I didn’t pay full price for this item.

Prettyyyyy, prettyyyy, pretty good
March 8, 2023I like the quality and look a lot. Sadly, the zipper isn't great (why is this an issue?!) and it is a bit boxy. It also runs a tad big. These are minor criticisms and I am happy with the buy!

Good quality product.
January 20, 2023Fit: it runs a little bit large; size down. The fit is more on the relaxed side; so, you can layer this jacket up a nice comfy sweater, even if you size down one box. Quality: the zipper, which is the main concern point, should work fine after some use. At first it is tricky, then, it works just fine. The quality of the fabric is exceptional, and the attention to detail is reflected on the overall price. Design: the design remember the classic British country-side. It is gorgeous, in its own unique way. I would recommend this product, specially if you can get it with some discount applied.

Not worth the ZIPPER issues
January 19, 2023The zippers are poorly designed. Listen to the other reviews. Not worth your time. Almost impossible to zip. Requires a BA in engineering. JCrew should not be selling this item with this issue. They should fix the zipper before selling.

Ignore the hate - this is a sleeper hit
January 17, 2023I just finished spending a weekend wearing this coat on a trip to Upstate NY. It’s fantastic. Pure and simple. Super warm, super stylish, super affordable on sale. The zipper takes getting used to yes, but it’s not unworkable. Once you figure out you need to pull down on the coat with your left hand, you can easily zip up with the right. Takes two or three tries before you master it as others have said. I’m a tailored 17/35 shirt size and it fits absolutely perfect over a sweater. I don’t feel it runs big at all. So glad I took a chance on this coat.

Quality wool piece for cold weather
January 16, 2023I've been looking for a casual wool coat with functional (read: big) pockets that I could layer. Wool quality is sturdy; the design is just perfect. Pairs great with dark denim or cords. A bit of conversation about the zipper in the reviews. I haven't had this problem. Will vouch for the nice design touches (sleeves, cuffs, shoulders, cord-lined collar, the collar). Quick note on sizing - it'll feel like it runs large, but it is mostly perception. Get in front of a mirror and remember this is designed to be worn with a layer (or two) underneath. This is not the kind of coat you want "fitted". Remember the golden rules: measure yourfit by (1) how the jacket sits on your shoulders; (2) cuff to hand ratio; (3) the length (where/how it falls).
