Balloon-sleeve crewneck sweater

Second time around for the perfect fit. Had to size down to a large for a comfortable, yet not too loose fit.

This sweater feels wonderful when you wear it - just heavy enough to hang in a flattering way but not overpowering. The ribbing is very fine so it adds some interest to the design. The cropped shape is also really fun - would love to have this sweater in multiple colors.

I bought the xl initially and loved it even though it was a bit too loose. Decided to give it away and ordered a large for myself. Looks great with jeans or paired with a silky skirt.

Most of my wardrobe is from J. Crew, and to be honest, sometimes the fabric in some of the sweaters can be too thin or flimsy for me, but I must tell you I LOVE this sweater. The fabric is thick and substantial, and the cut and fit is extra flattering. I was afraid the sleeves might look too puffed, but they really aren't overwhelming at all. As some other readers said, it just feels like a higher end and more elevated sweater. I may end up buying more colors.

I thought this was going to have great drape and shape. Wrong. JCrew needs to identify if their models are wearing a size (or two) up in the pictures. I am a size 6 and ordered a small, and it does fit, but it's not the cute, sloppy, drapey fit. Lesson learned, I guess. Never buy a Final Sale item I haven't already tried on. Not a fan of the mini-rib knit, either. I feel like it just looks like kind of a weird, basic black sweatshirt instead of a jaunty sweater. The fabric does feel like a nice quality, and it's a nice weight. Silky feel, dense knit. Just not a fan of the rib pattern or the fit.

I bought this during the sale because of the reviews - it's unusual to have so many 5 star reviews. I got it in black and camel and these will be staples of my fall/winter wardrobe. The perfect thing with a pair of black pants to make dressing for work simple. Very happy I ordered.
