Cashmere Fair Isle relaxed sweater

I bought this sweater hoping to love it, but it was way oversized and ended up returning it. I loved the colors in the sweater tho.

I really like this sweater, and so does everyone else who sees it. I am 5’7” and long waisted, and am by the jcrew size charts, a size small. I did not find it too cropped as it hits at the waist of high rise jeans. It is a little boxy, but I like that. Also, while the sleeves are longish, I wouldn’t really call them balloon sleeves. The cashmere is very good quality, I have worn it a few times and very little pilling or fuzzing, also very soft and warm. I washed it (delicates bag, tap cold, woolite, delicate cycle annd no spin) and I do think it might have shrank a bit in the width, which is fine with me.). So . . . Perhaps handwashing or dry cleaning would be best. All in all, lovely festive sweater. Very pleased with my purchase!

Up front - this is one of the most gorgeous sweaters - hands down - I have ever seen / felt. It's luxurious, thick and honestly worth the expensive price tag - 100% cashmere not acrylic and polyamide like the other J Crew Fair Isle option this season. However, the fit is atrocious and I almost shed a tear that I wouldn't be able to keep this! It does not list this as boxy or cropped, AND YET! I'm SO over J Crew making 99% of their tops SO SHORT. Some of us have normal bodies - breasts, tummies - and REALLY don't like / wear clothes that come above the waist band / belly button - it looks ridiculous, particularly if you ever have to raise your arms while wearing. I could've even dealt with the balloon sleeves (also not mentioned, though I guess you can kinda tell in the photo). DO BETTER J CREW. A gorgeous sweater than will undoubtedly be covering the sale racks come 12.26. You lost money on this design for sure. Returning and so sad about it.

This sweater is so beautiful in person. I wanted a non-Christmas Christmas sweater and this was perfect. It’s cropped, but not too much. I wear it with black high waisted trousers and it’s perfect lux casual Christmas. It’s expensive, but because it’s not too Christmassy, I’ll be able to get a lot of use out of it. I am 5 10 and I got the large because I was worried about it being too short. It’s very big and loose, but it works. I got a lot of compliments.
