Merino wool crewneck sweater
warmth—finished with sporty rib trim along the neck, cuffs and hem. We like to think of this one as the slightly shrunken cousin of our beloved Tippi sweater, with a shorter (but not too short) waist that perfectly counters our favorite pair of high-rise jeans.

What customers are saying:
Customers really love the Tilly sweater for its lightweight, soft merino wool feel and the fun mix of vibrant and classic colors that make it a versatile pick for dressing up or keeping casual. Many appreciate the intentionally cropped design, which pairs perfectly with high‑waisted skirts and jeans, though some have suggested buying a size up for a longer silhouette if that’s more comfortable for your needs. The fabric’s drape and comfortable crewneck have made it a go‑to for spring and transitional weather, with plenty of customers enjoying the ease of layering it over shirts for work or a day out. A few have mentioned minor concerns—like the potential for delicate areas or light transparency in certain shades—but overall, the Tilly is seen as a modern, dependable wardrobe staple.

Perfect Fall transition piece
October 9, 2015J.Crew merino wool sweaters never let me down with the way they hold up: no pilling, stretching, color fast,etc.. I love the new style of it being cropped as I am short & petite, thus everything seems to fall "long" on me. This piece will surely carry me from fall, winter, as well into spring being that I live in New England. Thanks J.Crew!I can always count on you for classic styles with a twist!

Why so short?
October 2, 2015I LOVE the tippi sweater, and thought this sweater might be a good deviation from my normal favorite. Issue was how short this sweater was on me. I'm 5'4, and even as someone that normally wears petite sizes, this sweater was way too short. It hit me around the belly button level, and it was not as form fitting. This made me look short and frumpy. I raised my arm and my entire stomach was showing. Not something I can wear to work, nor something I would feel comfortable in. Returned it as quickly as I could.

good to wear with high rise pants
October 1, 2015The sweater is a great quality, and I like the full length of the sleeves. I think it runs a hair large. I wish it was slightly more cropped.

lovely sweater
September 29, 2015I am very happy with the sweater. I am normally a medium and this fitted well, if anything I would have tried on the small had I been in the store, the sweater feels a little wide on the arms but I will keep it as it's fine. The fabric feels soft and well made. The length is good too, definitely not too cropped.

I want more!
September 25, 2015I am a big fan of this sweater, it is fitted (not super clingy). I was hoping for something relaxed but I decided to keep it since it was incredibly comfortable. The only down side is that it needs to be dry cleaned since it's wool but other than that I love the color (Navy) and it's not itchy at all. It's very soft and perfect to wear with a thin long shirt. I did not notice the crop cut very much since I am petite, 5'4, and I love the long sleeves. I don't like the usually tippy sweaters because they are longer sweaters with 3 quarter sleeves (the opposite of what I need).

great style and color, a wee scratchy
September 9, 2015Style-wise, this is post-millenial J. Crew at its hybrid best: classic, but with hipster cutting: neckline, proportion and fabric weight/drape are boho, not country club. the colors are terrific, and I like the way they pull off the cropped length without making the sweater boxy. i had trouble sorting out size - i'm 5', a little over 100 pounds, and the xxs was too tight in the arms and bust, while xs small was a little baggier than i'd like. my only other issue is that the merino wool is scratchier than most merino is. this might change with a few washings.
