Merino wool snowflake shawl cardigan in reverse-knit jacquard

I loved this sweater so much that I wore it nearly every day after it arrived. I then decided to wash it. Bad idea. Even though I washed it in cold water on the “Delicate” cycle, the sweater shrunk to a toddler’s size when I removed it from the wash. I spent several hours over the next few days trying to stretch it back to its original size; however, the more I tried, the worse it looked. The wool began to disintegrate, and the sweater’s sleeves were unbelievably stiff. To make matters worse, the sweater is now sold out in all sizes. I’m completely bummed. I am hoping that JCrew will sell this item again soon. I suppose the moral of the story is to always read washing instructions and never wash pure wool.
