Wish it came in petite
September 15, 2023I love the idea of this dress. I am 5’3” tall with a short waist and the dress looked too big for me in the multiple sizes I tried. It just didn’t match my proportions, like the seam for the hips was too low on me and the pleats on the bust and under the waist bunched on me. It seems like it was made for someone taller. I wish J Crew had a petite option for all of the women’s clothes.

Splendid!
September 5, 2023What a splendid shirtdress! Classic 100% cotton pinstripe, fuller through the bust, nipped in at the waist, and the sleeves...perfection. I am 5'11, with a longer torso, hourglass shape. Usually, dresses can be troublesome for me as the waistline can end up sitting too high up. Not so with this dress. It actually balances out my torso. Overall, the designers definitely knocked it out of the park when they created this shirtdress. I can see why this dress is now sold out.
