What customers are saying:
Many customers loved the skirt’s unique style and quality details like the tortoise buttons, lightweight fabric, and longer length that brings a fresh take to summer wear. Several customers suggested offering a more accurate back view and aiming for a subtler ruffle or kick pleat so the pencil silhouette remains true to its classic lines. They also recommended refining the back design detail to better balance the overall look of the skirt. In addition, customers shared mixed feedback on the fit, noting that it can feel roomier for some while being a bit snug around the waist for others.

MUCH cuter than expected! Demure, yet sexy!
August 28, 2020I hesitated on this skirt because I thought it might look too conservative. But I was very pleased by how attractive and even sexy it looks. It hugs your backside in a very nice way! Side view is nice too. The slight "flair" at the lower edge of hem in back is a subtle but well-designed detail that draws attention to your assets. (hah)

I can’t believe this made it into production
August 12, 2020I should have listened to the bad reviews. One of them said it was more of a kick pleat than a ruffle, so I took a chance and bought this final sale. Total waste of money. It’s definitely not a kick pleat but more like the trumpet or fishtail hems that were popular in the late 90s. The ruffle also curves around to the front of the skirt, passing by the side seams, so it flares out on the sides, too. The silhouette is nothing like the photo. It looks like a deranged gingham mermaid costume in person.

Super cute skirt!!!
July 1, 2020After reading several of the reviews, I was a bit hesitant ordering this skirt. Several buyers mentioned the “ruffle” on the back. I was expecting something really ruffled. I was pleasantly surprised that it’s no more than multiple kick pleats. I agree; there should have been a picture of the back of the skirt and a picture of the skirt on a model. Anyway, I’m glad I ordered it. It’s really a cute summer skirt and a lightweight fabric. Loved it so much I ordered the same style in the orchid seersucker.

My first review on a brand that I’ve loved forever
June 12, 2020As other reviews state, there is a huge ruffle in the back, which completely throws off the lines of the skirt so it’s not actually a pencil. But worse than that, the pattern was mismatched in the front and in the back, making it look even stranger. A definite miss that went right into the goodwill bag.

Love the look - fit not so much
June 10, 2020Unfortunately the sizing for me was tight around the waist but proportionally too long. I’m 5’2” and the length was awkward.

Pretty but ruffle is kind of weird
June 3, 2020I'm in agreement with the other reviews. I wish I had seen a picture of the back of the skirt before purchasing, or seen it on a model. I knew there was a ruffle, but it was not what I was expecting. In the front it looks relatively normal, but I'm hourglass shaped so in the back the ruffle just seems to REALLY emphasize my backside in an unflattering way. Normally pencil skirts are flattering because they taper down from the hips, but this literally flares back out. I'm keeping it because I'm handy with a sewing machine, so I plan on altering the flare. It's taken me this long to find a long, gingham pencil skirt that sits on my waist and hits below my knees, so I'm going to make it work. For reference, I'm 5'9 and wear a size 12. The quality overall seems pretty good, so I think it's worth keeping an altering. I think if you're expecting the "fishtail" on the bottom, then you will like this skirt, which is why I say I recommend it.
