Linen-blend V-neck dress

By far the worst purchase I’ve ever made from J. Crew. This dress looks beautiful in the photos and the fabric is pretty in person. Based upon the reviews and illustrations I thought I’d love this dress. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. Fit is odd; loose through midsection and bunches terribly when sash is tied. Chest pulls tightly if reaching for hug or extending arm, and must tug dress to return to smooth position and to level the skirt. Good length. I purchased as a final sale so I’m stuck with this (in 2 colors- one for me and other for my daughter) and neither work. Pretty disappointed by that. Added note- this isn’t lined and undergarments show through the ivory dress. The honey is a nice, rich hue. Still like the color... may become an expensive throw pillow. FYI: 5’5”, 115 pounds, 32D 0-2, XS,XXS typically fit in this brand.

I was very excited to purchase this for my granddaughters baptism. It looked beautiful in line and unfortunately did not read other reviews on the shiny feature. I received and although I like the fitting, the shiny is definitely off putting!! I feel like something princess Jasmine would wear. It’s final sale, so I am stuck with this.

I so love this dress that I bought the white after buying the gold. It's a minimalist luxe. I'm 5'2" 125 lbs. 34B. The XS is a perfect fit. Falls above the knee. It's like one of those you see in Vogue. One of my best buys.

Like many of you have probably done, I skipped by this dress multiple times. But I needed a gold dress for an event, so I decided to try this. I’m happy I did because I ended up liking it. Pros: well-constructed, quality fabric (it’s shiny, but not superhero-suit shiny; the reverse is a contrasting dull texture, and it’s unlined, but not see-through). The mid-section cut is generous, not clingy at all. Love the wide belt. The sleeves are roomy, and finish with a button at bracelet length. Cons: big on me. The stylist suggested a Small (26 waist, 115#, 5’5”), but I ordered an XS. Even THAT felt big, so I ordered an XXS, and that’s what I ended up keeping. The neckline was too revealing for this event, so I wore a cami, but I’d wear sans cami if the occasion called for it. No zipper opening, so if the dress had been any smaller (or I any bigger) sizing down wouldn’t have worked, since there is no give at all in the fabric. There a ~2“ hem for more length.

I could not wait to get this dress. It is amazing!! I liked it so much that I order it in white also.
