Nice idea, but runs very big in the waist
March 4, 2024I bought size 32 for my size 34 waist, knowing that vanity sizing is common across JCrew's pants and shorts. 32 usually works. Sometimes it's a bit loose, but fine. These in size 32 still had at least an inch of play -- they were very big, requiring a tight cinch of a belt, scrunching the fabric together in front. Not a good look. Perhaps it was mis-marked? Sloppy quality control? Had these fit properly, I would have liked them, as they are as described otherwise.

Nice shorts, but very large in the waist
August 10, 2023The pair I ordered ran very large in the waist. I typically wear 32 at J.Crew, but I ordered a 31 in these after reading some reviews for both the 7" and 9" shorts that the waist runs big. But even with a 31 I get a full inch of play and the shorts are unwearable without a belt. Nice shorts, but best to try on.

Comfortable Shorts
October 17, 2022I purchase the 7" tech shorts every year from J. Crew. This year I got them in the colors Stone and Vintage Dove. Although I prefer last years design over this years design because of the zipper on the back pocket, I did find these ones to be just as comfortable and stylish. Be careful with washing and drying them because I did notice the stitching came a little undone in one pair near the end of the summer. Overall great purchase!

Great shorts!
August 23, 2022Size down 1 size with waist for best fit (won't shrink like cotton in wash). Look great and have fit! Might have to replace all my shorts with these!
