The Economic Man's Alden Indy Boot
April 26, 2024The J.Crew Kenton Pacer Boot is about as close as one is going to come to to an Alden 405 for 40% of the average cost. They are NOT Chromexcel leather (early versions no longer made were) but their leather is nonetheless quality, perhaps one step down from leather used by well known boot companies. It will stand the test of time if you properly care for these boots. The sole is a proper Goodyear welt and resolable. The boots take a 54" lace (it's not documented anywhere I could find) and I highly recommend you replace the laces as they do not last. The leather breaks in well and they don't stay stiff more than 2 weeks. I wear them in the field as an government architect on days I need to transition into meetings at times, and they pair well in color and appearance with a pair of dark khaki pants and a Secret Wash Poplin Shirt.

Delicate and beautiful boots
March 1, 2024To be honest, I bought this product after watching a review by a Youtuber. He recommended these boots, and now they are my favorite boots. They look really delicate and beautiful in design. I think I will wear them often on appropriate occasions.
