size seemed perfect to me, wool is good
May 23, 2023I was a little apprehensive about sizing given some of the other reviews. But I'm about 6'3" and 195 lbs, so there's no way I could avoid a large. And I'm glad I did. I'm not getting the tent-effect that others complain of. I have pretty broad shoulders, so this thing hangs down/drapes in a nice way. It's roomy enough to fit a bulky sweater under, but it's nothing extreme. Sleeves are plenty long enough for my quite long arms. The details here are good, with flap pockets that snap down to conceal pockets underneath them, corduroy cuffs and collar, a good warm lining, etc. I got the blue-black plaid, and the blue is a nice deep color. Maybe the wool could be just a tad better—it's a little fuzzy, but not bad at all. I'm very happy to put this in rotation with my other wool outerwear. It's quite good, it fits well and looks nice, and the barn-jacket style is a little unusual for a wool winter coat. I'd say this thing is a win.

Something a little different...
March 28, 2023This is a different piece in my wardrobe. The pattern is fantastic and I really like the wool material. It does run a bit large but I don't know if I'd size down.

How did I not discover J.Crew Men's XS sooner?!
February 11, 2023I typically wear a women's size 6 or medium and the Men's XS of this gorgeous coat was on the sale rack so I thought, "why not...!" And it's amazing! Great colors, super warm and soft!

January 1, 2023Bought this for my son. He loved it very much. Runs a bit large, he is medium in Jcrew but this medium was slightly large. Was okay if he layered underneath.

Incredibly versatile coat
December 23, 2022Found the coat in the Columbus Circle J.Crew Men's Shop, so I HAD to try it in person. I'm 5'10", 175 lbs, athletic build, and it fit perfectly with juuuuust a little boxy fit (which is good in case I wanted to layer up). It's my new go-to winter coat, and it fits well over a sweatshirt/crewneck or another jacket underneath. Definitely worth it. (An extra 70% off in-store also helped!)

Intricate and Attention Grabbing
December 6, 2022It's been a long time since J.Crew has made something of this quality. The wool is very thick yet the interior lining makes it very comfortable to wear. The colors are very attractive. Definitely size down, I'm 6'1'' and usually wear large or even Xl. I ordered a medium and there's still some room.
