Ludlow Slim-fit wide-lapel suit jacket in Italian worsted wool
since its introduction in 2008, but we wanted to give this version a bit of continental swagger. Crafted in a handpicked worsted wool from Lanificio di Tollegno (est. 1862, making it one of the oldest mills in Italy), it features a new lapel that's an inch wider than our usual suit jackets. Still cut in the modern silhouette that earned the Ludlow its renown in the first place, this jacket is a new way to wear a timeless favorite.
- Italian wool from the Lanificio di Tollegno mill.
- 3 1/2" notch lapel.

- Two-button closure.
- Double vent.
- Nonfunctional buttons at cuffs.
- Lined.

Ludlow slim fit wide lapel suit is great
June 20, 2018The key to looking good in a suit is fit and good materials. Sure, you can spend $1-2k but why bother if the Ludlow fits you well? Jcrew ludlow is good quality. And buying in separates allows you to dial in the jacket/pants fit way better if you don't fit into the standard "drop" (like me, who has broader shoulders with slim waist). I think the traditional ludlow slim lapels remain stylish, along with the other ludlow styling cues like low button stance. Of course only works if it fits well. The wide lapel is a nice change of pace--probably looks more grown up. The slim lapel suits have more of a youthful vibe (not quite a "fashion suit" but leans that way) and the wide lapel is arguably more balanced (on a large suit jacket size). But coupled with the trim fit it's still "interesting" and not just run-of-the-mill boring.
