I find button ups a little too boxy for my taste and typically lean toward a less structured fabric. This blouse is a great in between. The fabric isn't scratchy or stiff, it isn't see through, and the ruffle adds the right amount of softness to the look. Also, I appreciate that this blouse is cut in a way that allows for the higher neck without chaffing my neck. Not sure how you made the best button up for women, but you nailed it!

Such a classic Jcrew. I have it in this pinstripe and white. I would say it runs true to size, but it is not fitted. I love the small pinstripe and the fact that it can go with everything. The color is not dark black, or dark navy. It's like a charcoal that goes with everything. Great alone, under a Jcrew vest or jacket. Just the right amount of ruffle.

I loved the details of this shirt…ruffle, all cotton, stripes! … but as a prior review stated the proportions just don’t work. Bought my normal size 8 in button ups… too long, too wide, slight drop shoulders make it look bigger and dumpy. I have long skinny monkey arms and the sleeves were huge and the side cuffs were not flattering. Would have to roll to wear. If you like this look go for it. But might want to consider going down at least one size. Or get it tailored.

I took it out of the package and immediately my husband thought this was going to be a great shirt- I did too! Instead, it is about 1.5 sizes oversized, and I don’t believe it is meant to be oversized. The sleeves are so long, the chest width is wide, and the body is also too wide. I bought a size 6, my normal size, but would consider a 4 if the sleeves weren’t also so massive. The proportions just aren’t right, which seems to be a trend this summer.
