Wintress belted puffer coat

Warm, cute and trendy. Wore for the first time yesterday. Fit is very true. For reference I’m 5’5 size small typically and the small fit perfectly.

I needed a bigger, puffier, warmer coat for the winter and this fit the bill perfectly! It's the perfect length and the medium is perfect for my 5'7, 135lb build, and roomy enough for multiple layers underneath. My favorite might be the thumb holes made out of a sweatshirt-like material. Didn't think I'd ever enjoy putting on a coat as much as I look forward to zipping this one up! I snagged it on sale and I'm so glad I did!

I hummed and hawed about buying this coat for no other reason than i'm not familiar with J Crew or their sizing. When I finally decided to buy it online they were all sold out and I was so disappointed. After scoping half a dozen department stores and other brands looking for something similar i realized this J Crew coat was going to be tough to match. A call to customer service a few days later and they not only had the coat back in stock but in my size! And on sale! Double win. Since it arrived in the mail i've pretty much worn it every day. The fit is slim for a puffer coat, the gold hardware gives it polish and the fleece lining in the pockets is super cozy. Now I can wear a simple sweater underneath and not have to add extra layers when I walk out the door because the coat does such a beautiful job of keeping me warm. So happy with my purchase and I might just be hooked on J Crew as a result.

I've been cyberstalking this coat for a long time - because it looks so good in the picture. When I was finally ready to pull the trigger, they had sold out. Then, they restocked my size, Medium (I'm 5'9", 140lbs). I was super excited because I figured it looks so gorgeous on the model, it'll look like that on me too, right? Nope. It just looked too puffy, the belt felt allowed for some waist cinching, but the cinching came in just under my chest, almost an empire waist. Perhaps if I would have gotten it in a Tall size, the belt might have fit differently. I also think that if I would have sized down to a small, it might fit like it does on the model (more form-fitting, less puffed up), but if I had done that, I don't think I would have been able to fit layers underneath, which for me is a must. In sum, if you are my size and you want it to look like it does on the model, maybe try a Tall Small, but keep in mind you won't have much room for layers. Good luck!

These cold winter days are just killing me!! My dog doesn’t take no for an answer when it comes to a walk, but I HATE big poofy coats. I bit the bullet and bought this coat and now I only wear this one! It’s so perfect, and fits so nice you don’t even feel like you’re wearing a big, ugly I’ll fitting winter coat. And it’s so warm!! Love the sleeves with the extra liners!
