Lightweight leather Nordic boots

I wore these boots on an adventure in Italy for 10 days, well only wore these for 9 days because they were superior at protecting my feet from the cobblestone streets compared to sneakers. I absolutely recommend them. (I did add gel insoles for a better comfort, but this was the first time they were ever worn.)

I initially thought these boots looked narrow right out of the box. My first try-on confirmed my fear; my feet felt squeezed on the sides. Ouch! However, after loosening the laces and wearing these for a couple of days, the boots felt much better. I usually wear a size 6 1/2 (sandals, heels) or 7 (boots, flats) and ordered a 7 in these. I have slightly wider feet but never have to order a wide-width size. I did switch out the laces to all black (much sleeker) and wear thin socks. These do get better with wear and look cute with leggings. I do love that these are lightweight given they are a bulkier style.

Needed a new light hiker. These are possibly the most comfy shoe I have put on my feet. They are so much more attractive and substantial than the photos show.

I took a chance and bought these boots because of the final sale price. They were leather, beautiful (the light tan ones) and on sale so I went for it. So glad I did. I actually bought a 10 which was just slightly too tight. I was able to sell them to a friend and I went back and bought an 11. The 11 was just slightly too big but I just stuck with them because they didn't have half sizes and these boots are so nice. The leather is beautiful. I liked the lighter color because it makes the boots feel more feminine and it matches my camel wool coat. Very comfortable, very warm and it feels like chic and stylish.

These were so comfortable right out of the box. My normal size is an 8, however with boots I sometimes wear thicker socks and these are just perfect in an 8.5. Lots of room in toe box. I walked all over NYC with them and felt comfy the entire time. I did purchase plain black shoe laces, as I didn't want to call attention to the boot with the black and white laces that they ship with. While cute, I prefer the same color laces on my boots. Got these on sale and they are one of my favorite purchases this winter.

After consistent wear, I am still in love with this boot but have some updates from my initial review. These are definitely sized a little bigger than their other Nordic boots. After wearing with regular socks and thicker camp socks, the size 9 is perfect and not snug at all. I’m normally a 9.5 in all J.Crew shoes/boots, so I usually size up to 10 with these whole size boots. For reference, I own most of their insulated/fur trim Nordic boots in size 10 except for one that I bought in 9. Both sizes work in that boot but the 10 in this boot would have been way too big. Unless J.Crew consistently runs small for you or you have a very wide foot - I’d recommend sizing down if you’re a half size. But overall, these are the cutest boots and so comfortable and useful - and they look so much better on than in the photos. Crossing my fingers they bring these back next fall in different colors. Buy while you can!!
