484 Slim-fit stretch jean in white

I really enjoyed the fit and quality of the J.Crew jeans

Jeans aren’t a pure white... As close as you can get. They look creamy in your wardrobe, but when you wear them they look bright white. Fit is consistent with their 484 line. Don’t pay attention to any of these negative reviews. Ther is NO chemical smell. I own over 80 pairs of their 484 chinos, denim, and corduroys... They all fit exactly the same. The only way these will “ruin when washed” is if you don’t know how to properly care for denim. Wash in Cold water inside out And either hang dry or tumble on little to no heat.

These are the best white jeans I found, and I looked at several pairs. The fit is just right, close fitting, but not skin tight. I believe JCrew has lengthened the rise of their jeans since I last bought a pair and it is a welcome change. Better look and feel. The Japanese denim is a substantial weight, although apparently not selvedge denim. To me, the best thing about these jeans is the off white, slightly cream color. A more subtle and nuanced look than bright white.And no worry about see-through. I am 5’11’’, 180 pounds and 34x32 is a perfect fit. Great white jeans!

I’ve been buying and wearing this fit for many years in both chino and denim. Unfortunately this fit has become so inconsistent that I can no longer buy this product on line. The latest pair, although purchased in the same 484 fit and size is cut significantly larger than in the past. This has happened to me before at J Crew. The denim also does not wash as it used to. Comes out of the dryer with heavy wrinkles that are hard to remove even with a steam iron.

In a previous review, I praised the 484 Slim-fit stretch jean in Whitford wash; however, I am unable to do the same for this pair. Out of the box it was crisp, and very stiff. I did a fit, and I liked it a lot. Snug and smooth; happy with the look. Though, unlike the online photo, the button is more of a nickel finish and not as brassy lookin.' The color is closer to a faded cream than white--but looks really good. However, there was a chemical smell. 'Is there a chemical finish on the fabric?' It went into the washing machine, to which I followed the care instructions: cold water, gentle cycle and low heat. Though, out of the 1st wash, the chemical smell remained; there were 2 spots on the fabric, to what resembled like oil spots. I've had this EXACT same issue before, with a previous J.Crew (Factory) purchase. Jeans re-washed. After a long drying cycle, the pants are badly wrinkled. It's still stiff. I mean, it's just jeans, but jeez, washing it should not be this much of a pain.

Good style but wrong fit for me. I will return and exchange.
