A-line merino wool sweater-dress

Overall I like this dress, if it were one or two inches longer, it would be perfect. The merino fabric is substantial. I got it in black, and will likely wear it with a silk scarf at the neck so that it isn’t too revealing for work. I’ll also wear with black tights and boots since it’s a little bit shorter than I like.

This dress has a flattering shape and is cozy. I bought it in black, even though I did like the look of the berry color, as well. It’s definitely a day to night dress. I’ve worn it to work and would wear it for an after work event (e.g., dinner, concert, etc.) in the future.

I bought two of these dresses in size large, in black and pink during final sale. I wish I could return, but final sales are, alas, final. The sleeves are insanely long, hitting my knuckles, and not in a good way as with some sweaters meant to be a bit extra long in the sleeves. It simply looks like I'm wearing a dress that is too big. Yet the body of the dress fits, although it looks frumpy. I will not be wearing these dresses, they will go to Goodwill, tags attached.

I bought the red one, it is a little darker than the pic, more like burgundy, but it looks great. I am 5'6'', 135 lbs, M is right for me and a little looser on the top. The material is thick which forms a nice A-line shape by itself. I gave it four star because the buttons are a little lower than imagined and the sleeves are way too long refer to the 3rd pic of the modal.

I was so encouraged by all the positive reviews here for this dress, but when I got it and tried it on, it was a big disappointment. I'm 5'5", 155 lbs., 34DDD, and ordered the medium, as per True Fit recommendation. It was too big up top, mostly in the shoulders and sleeves, which are strangely long and wide, especially at the wrists--an almost bell-sleeve effect, but not entirely. In the photos online, the dress seemed shapely and gently form-fitting, but on the body, it looked flumpy-schlumpy and a bit baggy. Length was OK, to the knee, but that's about all this dress gets right, along with the color, a dark pinkish ruby red which I loved. Also not thrilled that this item requires dry-cleaning. I was willing to deal with that if the dress hit the mark, but on me, sadly, it doesn't. Would get a small, but I fear that will be too clingy and show all my bumps and lumps. I give up on this one!
