Teddy sherpa topcoat

The is not the best designed teddy bear coat. The buttons are problematic and don’t stay closed and there is a gold chain feature at the back of the neck that is very cold and unpleasant. The fit is supposed to be boxy but just looks oversized and bulky despite getting the correct size.

I love teddy coats and I love J.Crew, so naturally I felt that this item needed to be in my closet ASAP especially after reading the rave reviews. There was a sale, I had some store credit- easy purchase! I was so excited when the box came; however, that excitement immediately died when I tried on the coat. I looked like a p-i-m-p! But without the cane and gold teeth! A little reference: I’m a large in J.Crew and almost all women’s clothes (XL on a bad day) and I’m 5’5. I went with my usual large and geez louise this thing was HUGE!!! and long! And sooooo unflattering! I couldve worn another jacket underneath the way the thing was so big. No sir...no ma’am. Back in the box and to the post office it went, expeditiously. Disappointed because some of these other teddy coats look matted and chewed up teddy bears. [sighs] my search for the perfect teddy coat continues.....

I bought the teddy coat from last year and I love it - style, quality, color. While I didn’t need another. a sale will make you rethink that! So I ordered this season’s in the bourbon caramel color. While it felt cozy on (the lowest bar to pass) the weave wasn’t as nice to the touch or visually (maybe it’s the more open weave or the longer “hair”?). I was disappointed in the quality (i.e.crooked/wavy hem!), and the color (odd orangey-brown vs. a rich camel). When I put on last year’s teddy, it just feels richer & better made - a “hit.” Current model is a nice more relaxed style but an overall “miss” for me :(

I have been looking for a teddy coat for 2 years now and haven't found any that are cute enough or what I'm looking for. As soon as I saw this coat I knew it was perfect! It is very high quality and fits well - a feminine tailored cut that is very flattering rather than just a straight or baggy cut that you might find at a cheaper store. I got the tan color and it is just perfect. I got size XS whereas normally I am a S. If you like more of an oversized look you can definitely do that but I wanted it to be more fitted. Get compliments everywhere I go with it! It is soft but unfortunately my skin is extremely sensitive to ANY kind of itchiness and this one itches my neck a little bit but I suck it up because it is so cute. I don't think it would be itchy to a normal person. (I can't even wear cashmere). BEST COAT!

I'm shocked by how many people love this coat. It's cute on, and soft, but the snaps are awful. The slightest tug and they all pop right open! (Like, the pressure from sticking my hands in the pockets was enough to unsnap the whole coat.) Was so excited to get this in the mail but after 10 seconds wearing it, it was clear that it's going right back. Do all the 5 star reviews come from people who live in warm places and don't need their jackets to stay closed? Maybe next year they'll make one with the same adorable fit but use closures that actually work...

I recently purchased the Teddy sherpa topcoat for my daughter. It fits beautifully and looks great. My concern is that the snap closures pop open easily. I hope this doesn't become a problem for her, but if it does, I will have the snaps replaced. All in all, she and I both love this coat!
