75 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers overwhelmingly describe this chambray shirt as a soft, versatile closet staple that’s easy to dress up or down with jeans, skirts, shorts, or workwear. The fit is often described as slim or slightly relaxed, and several customers suggest sizing up if they want more room through the chest, arms, or for layering. The main caution is durability: a lot of customers mention the fabric, seams, or buttons wearing out over time, so it may be worth handling it a little gently. Even so, many still love the color, faded look, and comfy feel enough to buy it again.

Beautiful but poor quality fabric
August 2, 2015I purchased this shirt several years ago after having my eye on the chambray style for some time. I waited to buy this until I had a gift card and absolutely fell in love until...I reached to grab something off a shelf in my closet and heard a loud ripping sound. The tear was so large I could fit my hand through it. I did not have the shirt long when this happened so it was not from normal wear and tear. This fabric has no give whatsoever and I am a small person so the 00 was not a snug fit. I did not think to return the shirt because I thought it was my fault it ripped so I just absorbed the loss. I have since purchased 3 chambray shirts from other brands all of which are better quality fabric as they are all still in tact. Sadly, I still prefer the wash of my original Jcrew chambray but don't want to take the chance of ripping another one as they are an investment.

Best fit, wears out quickly
May 9, 2015Of the three styles of J Crew chambray shirts I own, the cut and look of this one is my favorite, which is why I am on shirt # 3. It's soft, flattering and goes with everything. Unfortunately, as some other reviewers have mentioned, all three have now torn on the back of one arm where the seam meets the shoulder blade. The shirt is not tight, so I am not sure why this keeps happening. J Crew replaced my first one, though I have not brought the other two back. I love this shirt but don't think I'll buy another.
