Fair Isle chore jacket in wool

First things first - I always look at reviews to find out how soft the wool is/isn’t. This is a hardy, not soft wool. That said I’m not discomforted or irritated when the collar rests on my neck. It’s a very heavy rugged wool, the color variety is glorious in the wool. I’m a sucker for a good Nordic/fair isle knit - this thing excels - grey + taupe hues + white at the shoulders & neck. I layer this over other sweaters, sweat shirts, shirts/flannels, and long sleeves. Sadly the short sleeves/no sleeves is too itchy. SIZE DOWN - unless you’re looking for a very oversized look. I’m generally a medium, occasional small - this is not tight but fitted, and has streched/relaxed a bit over the month of steady wear.

Runs a little big. I’m 6’3” 230 and got a Large. Plenty big. Great thick knit yarn and heavy buttons. Big front pockets. Great by itself and as a mid layer.

Love the sweater. I was surprised that for me at least, the item fit very, very loose. I ordered an XL, as typically I am a "tweener" between L + XL, so I opted for a little looser fit, as after all, this is a chore jacket! A comfy weekend item. But it fits really really loose. I would love to exchange it, but the items popularity has made them very hard to obtain. I will say this, the quality of this item is top-notch. Like everything from JCrew.
